Michelle Homewood is the administrative assistant for the SeaDoc Society. She brings her experience and enthusiasm to many different roles, advancing office operations through data management, event assistance, boat maintenance and providing support to all SeaDoc staff. She stays busy behind the scenes working to further the mission of protecting the health of marine ecosystems.

Hailing from the midwest with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa, she moved to Orcas to pursue her passion for sea kayaking.

She immediately fell in love with the Salish Sea, and has gained an intimate knowledge of the wildlife, tidal currents, and islands at the slower pace of paddling, and is now a certified marine naturalist. In her free time, you can find her coaching ultimate frisbee or in the mountains with her husband and slightly above-average dog.
