Erika Nilson is the office administrator for SeaDoc Society. In a small team, that title means she does everything from data management, donor relations, boat maintenance coordination, event planning and more.

Erika is originally from the Midwest but dreamed of living near the ocean from an early age. Upon graduating college with a degree in biology, she moved immediately to the West Coast to realize that dream. Her 20-year career includes both land and marine wildlife rehabilitation, marine animal biology and pathology, and lab sample management.

As self-proclaimed city kid she has readily taken to the rural life and beauty the San Juan Islands offer. She is grateful every day to be able to lend her skills to preserving and educating others about this amazing ecosystem.
