We’re thrilled to announce the latest addition to our Board of Directors, Eleanor Parks!
Eleanor was born and raised in the Seattle area and spent her youth plying the waters of the Salish Sea, including the San Juan and Gulf Islands, where she developed a passion for the region and a commitment to place-based conservation. She and her husband also have a cabin on Lopez Island.
Eleanor’s passion for the Salish Sea and the Pacific Northwest runs deep, and she’s excited to hit the ground running as she joins our Board of Directors in what is obviously a unique time with unique challenges.
“I’m inspired to be part of an organization that supports this passion,” she said. “And to able to work with others who feel the same way.”
Eleanor has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and 25 years of experience working in commercial real estate as a partner. Eleanor served on the Board for the Lopez Community Land Trust and is a member of the Washington Women’s Foundation, a woman-powered community philanthropic group. She understands how non-profit organizations and philanthropy can be transformative and improve the things we care about—skills that will be invaluable in her role on SeaDoc’s board.
Welcome, Eleanor! See you on Zoom!
